Who we are

This generic stock photo of yoga mats should tell you everything you need to know.

JK.

Eight Limbs is a community-first yoga studio for real people with real bodies, and real schedules. Classes are thoughtful, playful, and accessible. Instructors are friendly, approachable, knowledgable and supportive.

In addition to our schedule of yoga classes, we’ll offer workshops, community events, and a variety of other moments to deepen your practice. IRL human interaction, in a space that feels safe and inviting, led by compassionate, down to earth people who want to see you succeed.

(We promise we’ll get better photos once we’re open.)

Meet the Team

Owner/Instructor. 500-hr RYT

Justin began his yoga teaching journey at The Yoga Space, where he completed his 500-hr training, in Portland, OR under the tutelage of Michele Loew. Mostly, he just really likes yoga and wants to share it with as many people as he can.

After The Yoga Space closed, he decided he wasn’t done teaching and really enjoyed sharing yoga with others, especially beginners, so he started teaching and subbing around town at different studios. Eventually he was inspired to open Eight Limbs and build this community.

Kate Sumanoharan began her Yoga journey in 2005 with an Ashtanga practice in Reno, NV. After more than twenty years in the IT field, she transitioned to teaching Yoga, finding in it both personal healing and a way to support others on their own paths.

She completed her 500-hour training with Michele Loew, whose teachings, along with those of Ian LeMasters, inspired her to deepen her study and dedication to Yoga. Kate is currently studying trauma-informed Yoga Therapy with Sarahjoy Marsh while continuing her mentorship with Michele.

Rooted in Hatha Yoga, Kate teaches with a focus on cultivating equanimity, compassion, loving-kindness and joy. She is dedicated to nurturing presence within individuals and supporting a positive contribution to the collective consciousness.

You can also find Kate at Yoga Refuge NW, Trainer’s Club, and Heart Springs Health.

Katie has been practicing yoga since 2015, and completed her 500hr teacher training with Michele Loew in 2025. Her passion for teaching is rooted in wanting to help others discover the inner stillness and the light of clear consciousness that we all possess. Beneath the weight of the world and all its stressors, we have the power to return to the true nature of the Self and the path of a dedicated, loving Yoga practice can support this journey home.

She believes in combining mindful movement with alignment techniques and breathwork to bring the mind to stillness through concentration. Using the physical practice to dissolve separateness between the physical and energetic body, our Yoga becomes the gateway to this inner peace. She likes to design her classes to support practitioners in all stages of their journeys and teach from themes rooted in Samkhya Philosophy, encouraging students to explore their own consciousness further and how we all share the same light from within.
