The Homestretch

Hi again, friends! At the risk of jinxing it, we thought you’d like to know that we’re about thisclose to signing a lease on our space! We’ll give you all the details once there’s ink on paper, but we will say this: its close-in SE, off Hawthorne, and when you Google the address later you’re gonna go “oh wow, I know that building! What a great location!”

We still have a few little details to work out, but things are moving along quite nicely. If all goes according to plan, we’ll get the keys to the kingdom in June and get to work on making it nice for y’all. Then, in July, we’ll start to roll out some preview classes and a limited schedule for a lil “soft opening” situation, followed by the whole shebang going live in August. If you can’t tell, we’re trying to strike a balance here between gettin’ you all hyped, while still being strategically vague. Things like this are always flexible, and plans can change at the drop of a hat (drop of a mat?), but for right now…this is the plan! So, get hyped!

To say we’re excited about bringing Eight Limbs to life is an understatement. We’re envisioning a space that is more than just a yoga studio — it’s a part of the community. It’s a place people can come to connect, to learn, to grow, and to practice yoga in whatever form resonates with them. We picture it being as much a “community center” as a studio where you can get your stretch on. It's a place for mindfulness, but also a place for fun and play. We want to build a place that welcomes people from all walks of life, that features great teachers and guests, and that centers creativity, hospitality, and community above everything else.

Here’s a little sneak peak on some of the things we’ll be offering:

Open Studio Time: The doors will be open, y’all! And we don’t just mean “15 minutes before class”. We want you here, we want you in the space and using it. Lots of people have a personal yoga practice, but practicing at home, in your bedroom can get kinda lonely. Our schedule will build in Open Studio time so you can bring your personal practice to a space that is actually set up for you to do yoga. Kinda Mysore, but kinda “whatever you want.” There will be a teacher floating around, of course, if you ever have questions or need help, but there won’t be a led class happening during these times. And, just for knowing: members will get to access Open Studio time for free, as a benefit of their membership.

Yoga Snacks: You need to get up from your desk and stretch! Doctor’s orders! Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a lunch time class that you could actually make it to during your lunch break? Well, we got you. Yoga Snacks are a 30-minute flow designed to help you shake off the office crunchies, but leave you with enough time to clock back in before your boss starts to ask questions.

Non-Yoga and Yoga Adjacent Things: Eight Limbs is a community space as much as it is a yoga studio, so we will be available to host events, meetings, book clubs, knitting circles, covens…and other community events whenever we can! Got an idea for an event, or a group that needs a space to meet? Hit us up!

Workshops and Guests: We’ll tell you more about a certain specific monthly Yoga Nidra workshop soon, but we’re also planing to make this a space where folks can explore the world of yoga and deepen their practice. Got a favorite yoga-fluencer? We’ll invite ‘em. Wanna learn the fundamentals of asana? We’ll have a workshop for that. Curious about philosophy or meditation? Come sit with us.

Ok, that’s enough sneak peakin’ for now, but hopefully this has you feeling as excited as we are! Before we go, we just want to take a moment to say how much we appreciate you and your support. We literally couldn’t/wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for you, so thank you! If you’ve been waiting to sign up for a membership, or scoop up an intro class pack, now’s the time! Every penny earned goes straight into making Eight Limbs a reality, and those founder’s deals won’t last long! This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of something amazing and we would love to have you along for the ride!
